The Full Story

Priscilla Oates imparted much of her passion for her community through Positive Generation in Christ Altar Center's vision to teach, train, and equip mature believers for the ministry's work. She and her husband, Pastor Duarthur Oates, through PGIC Altar Center, also help bring people into their destiny and full potential to fulfill God's purpose on this earth. The PGIC Altar Center also empowers and trains people to become disciples.

Co-Pastor Priscilla Oates was ordained into the ministry under the leadership of Pastor Duarthur Oates in 2002. She continues to empower the next generation by providing citizens with jobs, training, and critical assistance in the same community where she grew up.

Co-Pastor Priscilla Oates founded PGIC, INC. in 1993. PGIC, INC provides critical services that make a community a community. 

​

In 2002, Co-Pastor Oates became the youngest Black Mayor in the State of North Carolina. She was reelected in 2010-2013.  She served as the Mayor of Princeville, the oldest town in the United States of America chartered by Blacks.  Before serving as Mayor, she served as a Princeville Commissioner in the year 2000.
